The Flame Thrower® Redbud is a compact ornamental tree famous for its ever‑changing foliage, where every new flush of leaves arrives in a different color. Unlike traditional redbuds that stay green all season, this one puts on a moving rainbow show from spring through fall.
Spring: Flowers + First Color Flush
In early spring, the tree produces the classic rosy‑pink pea‑shaped redbud blossoms along bare branches.
Right after flowering, the first leaves emerge in a deep burgundy‑purple, glossy and dramatic.
Summer: Color‑Changing Foliage
As the season warms, each new wave of leaves shifts through a sequence of colors: Burgundy → Orange → Yellow → Chartreuse → Lime green
This creates a layered, multicolored canopy where no two branches look the same.
